Malcolm Hendry

Malcolm was appointed CEO of Birchleigh Residential Care Centre and Chatsford Lifestyle Community in February 2007. Both businesses are based in Mosgiel, just south of Dunedin. Birchleigh is a 79-bed facility offering Rest Home, Hospital and Specialist Dementia care. Chatsford is a 236 unit resort style retirement community.

Malcolm has an MBA from the University of Otago, has owned a business consulting company, and over the past 25 years has held management positions in the IT, printing and banking industries.

While relatively new to the aged care sector, Malcolm is passionate about the role the industry has to play in New Zealand’s future, and believes a representative body like HCPNZ is essential to provide a strong, united voice for residents, employees and operators within the industry.

He is married to Jenny and they have three children.
